Write to [email protected]. I read everything and I answer most things, though not always quickly. I am not the trail, the lodge or a tour operator: I cannot sell you anything, check a booking for you, or tell you what the cloud will be doing on your date.
What I can help with
- A correction: a bus that no longer runs, a car park detail that has changed, a page that has gone out of date
- A planning question the pages do not answer
- Something here you found confusing, badly explained or plain wrong
- A press or research question about this site
What I cannot help with
- Bookings, changes, cancellations and refunds — those are GetYourGuide’s, through the confirmation email they sent you
- A ticket for Preikestolen, which does not exist and never has — see is the hike free
- Telling you whether the plateau will be out of the cloud on a given day
- Anything urgent. In Norway the emergency number is 113, and on the mountain that is the number to call rather than me
- Link exchanges, guest posts and sponsored placements, which I do not do
If you have just been
That is the most useful message I get. What the car park was like and at what hour, whether the bus ran and how full it was, what the boardwalk sections were like after rain, how long it actually took you rather than how long the sign said. Put the date you walked at the top and I will get it onto the page it belongs on.
A note on replies
I write this site alone, around other work, from a house in Jørpeland. There is no office, no telephone line and no team, which is why there is an email address on this page and nothing else. If you need an answer before you travel, the forecast and the people at the trailhead are both faster than I am, and for a booking only the operator’s own support can act. For everything else, I will get there.
